Dear Fellow Opera Lover,
Welcome to another year of wonderful music from Knoxville Opera! As you know, the Knoxville Opera Guild creates social and educational events especially designed to complement the season and support the opera. Because of your support the Knoxville Opera Guild was able to donate an unprecedented $182,000 to the Knoxville Opera last year! With your help we will enjoy the same success again this year.
Our Annual Membership Party kicks off the 41st Knoxville Opera season on September 18th at the home of Drs. Samia and Wahid Hanna, 905 Westmoreland Boulevard. This event is held exclusively for current Guild members free of charge. The party will feature entertainment by students of the University of Tennessee Opera Theatre accompanied with beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres.
Knoxville Opera has three exciting productions planned for the season, starting with a double bill of The Impresario and Gianni Schicchi October 26 and 28, followed by the dramatic Lucia de Lammermoor February 22nd and 24th and concluding with another double bill of Cavalleria Rusticana performed on the steps of the recently constructed Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and a Sacred Music Concert performed in the glorious sanctuary May 4th and 5th.
Guild events throughout the season provide opportunities for elegant fun while supporting Knoxville Opera. Join us on December 1st for the annual Opera Ball at the Knoxville Museum of Art. Three Monday Night Operas are being planned, as well as the ever popular Knoxville Croquet Tournament and Martini Party. And finally, we will host delicious pre-opera dinners and brunches for you to enjoy with your fellow opera lovers.
Be sure to mark your calendars with the following dates:

Knoxville Opera Guild is a volunteer organization created in 1992 to support Knoxville Opera and provide a means of fellowship for opera lovers. Through fund-raising and educational activities, the Guild makes opera accessible to an increasingly diverse audience and enhances the quality of life in our community. The Guild’s annual fund-raising events include an Opera Ball, a Martini Party, and Croquet Tournament, Monday Night Opera Dinners, and Pre-Opera Meals which together raise over $100,000 for Knoxville Opera.
Knoxville Opera Guild partners with the Nashville Opera Guild to present the annual Metropolitan Opera Middle/East Tennessee District Auditions. The public is welcome to attend these auditions free of charge.
Where Opera Lovers Meet
The Guild also provides a social structure for opera lovers to network. This is achieved through the events such as: cast parties that welcome visiting performers, pre-opera dinners and brunches, and Monday Night Opera dinners at local restaurants that often include live entertainment.
